About Elisha
Taste has always been important to me. My mom can probably tell you stories about how I always asked for ‘tasty’ foods as a child. My true passion comes from watching my dad cook, we share a common love for food, stories and deep conversation. It is the gifts that my parents encouraged that have led me here.
I started working in the food industry about 11 years ago teaching cooking classes to children and teens, assisting for catered events, and adult classes in a community-based kitchen in Mississauga, Ontario.
As I went on to travel, I found a magical place called Mana Retreat Centre in Coromandel, NZ. I had the privilege of working with some amazing cooks and chefs that have taught, led and inspired me to create Cheeky Monkey.
I'm based on Denman Island and I service all the Gulf Islands of this beautiful, British Columbia.
My Story

Vision
My vision for Cheeky Monkey is to create food that is healing, appealing and nourishing for all bodies. I love buying local produce from markets in BC that support medium to small scale farms.
I am passionate about putting conscious loving energy into the food I prepare. I enjoy working with seasonal produce, and incorporating colors, textures and different flavor profiles in my dishes.
